What?!?!?! Another big weekend after being in Brissy for Finale?
Yep, this weekend is the local show. I’ve been on the Committee for a few years now and love helping to organise the largest agricultural event for our region. I help out in a number of areas and it’s a full-on weekend with not much rest but lots of fun and laughter.
So why am I blogging about a local show in a two horse town?
Because it’s an annual event so I haven’t seen a lot of these people in twelve months. Like at least 45 kgs ago.
One of my main duties at the Show is to sing the National Anthem at the Official Opening. This will be my fourth time, my first being at the 2010 Show. I just went and had a look at the recording from that one and am excited at the changes I see but also hear. My voice has changed in line with all the other changes I’ve made in my life so I’m excited to get back out there. The only thing I ask is that it doesn’t rain. I’ve had to sing in the Pavilion for the last three years because of rain, and being the diva (!) I am, I wanna sing outside!
Lots of other great things to look forward to as well including shopping in the RM Williams truck (only ever bought a hat before cause I doubt anything else would have fit), catching up with old friends and being able to dress to the weather (last year I spent half my time in the walk in fridge to cope with the heat because I refused to wear a singlet).
