So I’m feeling pretty freaking awesome at the moment.
I did my usual run this morning and focussed on striding out and my breathing. I’m not increasing my distance at the moment but trying to increase my speed. I have identified a 5km fun run I want to do next year and have set a goal of doing it in less than 30mins. I’m following the 12wbt 10km program so have also been doing sprints as well as toning etc.
Plus at training on Thurs night my PT asked what I would like to do and without even thinking I said sprints up the hill. Trust me, it’s a bloody steep hill and it took a lot to pound out that 10 sprints but it makes me feel so fit.
Then we did a circuit that alternated cardio with resistance and on one of them I chose the harder option of a step up/over thingy. I told Kim I chose it because it makes me feel light on my feet and her response was that was because I am light on my feet. 50kgs lighter. Nice.
So anyway, back to my run. I stepped it up and even sprinted up the last hill at the house. That got the heart rate up! But I arrived back at the house just feeling awesome. Fit and healthy and happy.
And to top it off, I went to the physio this morning for the first time in 3 months. This is a guy that at the start of this year, I was seeing every 2 weeks because of my back. Now, I’m 50 kgs lighter and todays treatment was really just a check-up and straighten out the kinks. I used to worry about how much I hung over the sides of the treatment table and would check my hips were in the centre (but they still hung over a bit). This morning I got on the table and there was stacks of room either side.
Oh, and one final thing. Cause I was feeling so good after my run I put on a skirt that I’d recently discovered:
Yep, that’s my high school skirt. But not Yr 12, Yr 10! I have never even bothered to try it on before but thought I’d give it a go. I would never have even gotten this over my hips previously, possibly not even my knees! Last worn 1990 – 22 years ago!!! Wahoo!!!
